Something to think about over the weekend while you try to figure out how to pay for your next fill up.
We have an energy crisis on our hands, and our stalemated Congress has yet to act in any meaningful way. Democrats, though have said “we can't drill our way out of this”. It's on the record.
First, I hate it when anyone says America can't do something. When did this become our national approach to crisis?
“America” and “can't” don't belong in the same sentence. When we needed to develop the atomic bomb, we did it, and one can only imagine what the world would be like today had Germany or Japan (who were also working on it) developed it first.
When JFK said we can get a man on the moon and back safely to earth in 1961, we did it.
“Can't” is a loser's attitude.
If we approach energy solutions with a war-like mindset, as we did with the Manhattan Project or the space program, we can do it. Many oil experts have emphatically said we can see results within a year as we look for long term answers beyond crude oil. France is now getting 80% of it's electricity from clean, green nuclear power. We haven't built a nuclear facility in 35 years! I hate to admit the French are ahead of us in anything (except pastries).
Ponder this-
What does it mean that you can't drill your way out of this? This is like telling a starving man, "You can't eat your way out of being hungry!" "You can't water your way out of drought!" "You can't sleep your way out of tiredness!" "You can't drink yourself out of dehydration!" Seriously, what does it mean? Finding more oil isn't going to increase the supply of oil? (Anne Coulter)
On that note, it would be like me telling you that weekends aren't the way to relax yourself out of a stressful work week. Have a good one!
